<FONT face=Verdana size=4>Gudrun Bojesen <BR></FONT><FONT face=Verdana size=2>b. 1976 <BR>Royal Danish Ballet <BR></FONT><BR><FONT face=Verdana size=2>Gudrun Bojesen was born in Denmark in 1976. She trained by the Ballet School of the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. She became an apprentice in 1992, and in 1994 she was engaged as a dancer in corps de ballet by the Royal Danish Ballet, where she was appointed soloist in 2000 and principal dancer in 2001.<BR><BR>She has danced a number of leading roles with the Royal Danish Ballet, including Tatiana in <EM>Onegin</EM>, Odette/Odile in <EM>Swan Lake</EM>, Aurora in <EM>Sleeping Beauty</EM>, Hilda in <EM>A Folk Tale</EM>, the Pupil in <EM>The Lesson</EM>, Elisa in <EM>The Conservatoire</EM> and Eleonora in <EM>The Kermesse in Bruges</EM>, and further soloist roles in <EM>Etudes</EM>, <EM>Serenade</EM>, <EM>Tarantella</EM>, <EM>Turandot抯 Dream</EM> and <EM>Jazz</EM>.<BR><BR>She has been awarded a number of prizes and grants, including the DANCE Grant in 1995, the Bartholin Foundation Grant in 1996, the Sven&aring;ge Larsen Grant in 1997, the Adeline Genee Grant, the Gotschalk Grant, the Bournonville Grant in 1999, and the Hans Beck Grant in 1999.</FONT><BR><BR><BR>

<FONT face=Verdana size=4>Darcey Bussell <BR></FONT><FONT face=Verdana size=2>b. 1969 <BR>Royal Ballet <BR></FONT><BR><FONT face=Verdana size=2>Darcey Bussell was born in London in 1969. She studied at the Royal Ballet School. She joined SWRB in 1987 and moved to The Royal Ballet as a Soloist in 1988. She was promoted to First Soloist and then to Principal in 1989. <BR><BR>She created Princess Rose (<EM>rince of the Pagodas</EM>), Masha (<EM>Winter Dreams</EM>), Mistress Truth-on-Toe (<EM>Mr Worldly Wise</EM>) and roles in <EM>The Spirit of Fugue, Bloodlines, Dances with Death, Pavane pour une infante d閒unte</EM> and <EM>Towards Poetry</EM>.<BR><BR>Repertoire includes:<BR>Juliet <EM>(Romeo and Juliet)</EM>, Giselle <EM>(Giselle)</EM>, Odette/Odile <EM>(Swan Lake)</EM>, Cinderella <EM>(Cinderella)</EM>, Aurora and Sugar Plum Fairy <EM>(Sleeping Beauty)</EM>, Nikiya <EM>(La Bayadere)</EM>, Terpsichore (<EM>Apollo</EM>), Raymonda, Manon, Mitzi Caspar (<EM>Mayerling</EM>), Black Queen (<EM>Checkmate</EM>), Mathilde Kschessinska (<EM>Anastasia</EM>), Pas de Deux (<EM>Birthday Offering</EM>) and roles in <EM>Serenade, Duo Concertant, Agon, Ballet Imperial, Tchaikovsky pas de deux, Symphony in C, In the middle, Somewhat Elevated, Push Comes to Shove</EM>. <BR><BR>Awards:<BR>Won the Prix de Lausanne, 1986.<BR>Received the 1990 Evening Standard Ballet Award and the Variety Club Award for Most Promising Newcomer.<BR>Awarded an OBE in 1995. </FONT><BR><BR>
