<FONT face=Verdana size=4>Asta Bazeviciúte <BR></FONT><FONT face=Verdana size=2>b. <BR>Birmingham Royal Ballet <BR></FONT><BR><FONT face=Verdana size=2>Asta Bazeviciúte was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. She trained at the Minsk State Choreography College. She danced with the Latvian National Opera (1997/98) and the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (1998/2002), dancing Odette/Odile (<EM>Swan Lake</EM>), Giselle and Myrtha (<EM>Giselle</EM>), Sylphide (<EM>La Sylphide</EM>) and Aurora (<EM>The Sleeping Beauty</EM>). She joined Birmiungham Royal Ballet as a Soloist in 2002 and was promoted to Principal in 2003. In the short while Asta has been with the BRB, her performances in <EM>Arthur</EM>, <EM>Western Symphony</EM>, <EM>Concert Fantasy</EM>, <EM>The Sleeping Beauty</EM> and others have marked her out as an outstanding and valuable addition to BRB's ranks.<BR><BR>Repertoire:<BR>Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Fairy (<EM>The Nutcracker</EM>), Fourth Movement (<EM>Western Symphony</EM>), Swanilda, 'Prayer' (<EM>Coppélia</EM>), Igraine (<EM>Arthur</EM>), Aurora, Fairy of Joy (<EM>The Sleeping Beauty</EM>), Giselle, Myrtha (<EM>Giselle</EM>), Lady Mary (<EM>Enigma Variations</EM>), Gypsy Girl (<EM>The Two Pigeons</EM>), Terpsichore (<EM>Apollo</EM>), Isis (<EM>The Sons of Horus</EM>) and <EM>Concert Fantasy</EM>.<BR><BR>Awards:<BR>Third Prize in the 17th Varna International Ballet Competition (1996)<BR>rizewinner of the Belarusian Person of the Year and diploma holder (1996)<BR>Third Prize in the 4th Nagoya International Ballet and Modern Dance Competition (2002).</FONT><BR><BR>

Graduated from Moscow Choreographic School 1962 in the class of Sofia Golovkina. Just like Spessivtzeva she made the perfect Giselle. She joined the Bolshoi Ballet in 1974. Performing leading and solo parts in both classical and modern ballets.
